With 2 rounds having been run here is a short catch up of those events.
Round 2: Road America
Vermin Racing could not make this round having focus elsewhere it's only Triple Eight who entered with one driver for this round. Initially Dave Southword continued with some good pace in Qualy pinching 2nd place on the grid and looking strong. However the race didn't quite go to plan and at the start he slipped down to 4th. running just behind Sanford until lap 7, where a half slide cost him several places and dropped him down to 7th, Then on the same lap the car just dropped itself, putting Dave into the armco heavily and unluckily Mex Jansen collects with Dave's spinning car. Limping back to the pits Dave comes back out in 12th place, He eventually recovers to 8th by the end of the race but unfortunately with such a short season it seriously dampers some of the hopes of taking the ARL title after such a brilliant start to the season.
Round 3: Silverstone
Vermin Racing return with Alex Cochrane stepping in, Again Triple Eight look very strong with Dave muscling the car into 3rd place in Qualy. Alex struggled slightly during the seassion and could only manage 7th. Dave has a good start and is able to challenge for 2nd but has to back out and drops down to 4th. Alex is held up by another car having a mistake in front of him which costs Alex a position having to avoid a collision. Dave again suffers another half spin which drops him behind Alex and into 7th as the pitstop window draws closer. Alex is passed by Dave after a couple of laps, Dave just finding that bit more speed at that stage. Another small mistake from Dave drops him back behind Alex again. Alex goes around the outside of Gabour and suddenly Alex finds himself in 3rd place. a small mistake from Alex and Gabour gives Dave a sniff at overtaking, he is able to make it past Gabour and stay close to Alex until the end of the race, harassing all the way to the line as Alex holds off the charge from Dave and takes the podium spot.
