Hamelink Hammers his way to 3rd

Updated: Sep 10, 2019

Vermin Racing had a mixed result in Bahrain, With Oscar suffering with some qualifying problems which put him mid pack and in the dangerzone at the start and Max having a Qualy ban from the last race. We settled in for a long race.

Oscar unfortunately ended up with damage on lap 1 pushed off and had to put for new tyres which then set his race into recovery mode. Doing a stellar job consistently moving up the field on old tyres as others pitted. Max was able to make solid progress and very few mistakes with almost every rival having some kind of issue throughout the race, His stategy was to stay out as long as possible and pit late and charge at the end, by the time he pitted it was clear he was now the fastest car on track in P5 and soon dispatched the car ahead for 4th and closed the gap to 3rd and with 2 laps to go made a huge dive into turn 1 for the final podium position and managed to make it stick bringing the car home in 3rd from the back of the grid and cementing his talent in this championship. Oscar who had some more Tyre issues made some brilliant moves to clinch 12th which was a much better result than he predicted after the first lap of the race. With the championship now moving to China for the next race, Oscar will be hoping that his luck improves. But to say that the results outweighed the targeted positions is an understatement with the level of competition in his league currently.

We will see you in China
