Oscar and Maxi both performed fantasically in the CNDC championship. With Oscar winning race 1 and Maxi getting 3rd. Race 2 is always a difficult one due to the reverse grid and the quality of drivers thoughout being very even, Oscar managed to claw his way to 6th and Maxi managed 4th. Jack had a bit of a nightmare and struggled at Imola but still brought the car home in a solid mid pack position in both races.

Slowly but surely! Oscar Williams unstoppable, but Borlovan has hopes for the title
After an exceptional course in the first five stages, Florin Mergea had a weekend that he will have to forget as soon as possible, the three points obtained throwing our tennis player on the fifth position in the general classification. But the difference of 34 points between the first and the sixth driver in the championship makes the battle in the last stages to be interesting. The final ranking will be made on the N - 2 system, where N is the total number of stages, and 2 the weakest two positions this season.
QUALIFICATIONS: Șuțeanu goes out on the ramp
The qualifications would put Mihai Șuțeanu on the ramp, who confirmed his entry into the leading platoon of the pilots in the battle for victory. The driver of the Willi Motorsport team passed a time of 1: 43.926, being the only one who fell below the barrier of 1m.44s. A result that ensured his departure from pole position, with Oscar Williams on the front line. Urmas Riis and Victor Taras shared the second line of the grid, followed by Cristian Moisescu, Lukas Hellmann, Leo Borlovan, Maximilian Junger, Emanuel Gaczella and Florin Mergea. Note the appearance of the 15th grid position of the debutant Horia Roca, from the Heritage Motorsport team.
ROUND I: Oscar Williams, victory without emotions
As expected, the first round left the impression of a déja-vu, Oscar Williams managing to decide the fate of the victory without any problems. The Briton crossed the finish line with an advance of over four seconds compared to the second place, keeping his percentage of 100% in terms of performance in the first round in the last four stages. Even if he failed to take advantage of starting from pole position, Mihai Șuțeanu finished second, with almost seven seconds in front of Maximilian Junger, the occupant of the third position on the podium at Imola.
But the latter had a lot of work to achieve this result, the fate of the last position on the podium being decided thanks to an advantage of 316 thousandths of a second. An excellent result for Maximiliam Junger, who started from the eighth position of the grid. Victor Taras placed fourth, followed by Cristian Moisescu, Emanuel Gaczella and debutant Horia Roca, who started from the 15th position of the grid. The last positions in the Top Ten were won by Lukas Hellmann, Leo Borlovan and Sabin Stroescu, the latter also achieving a remarkable performance if we consider that he started from the 23rd position on the starting grid. For Florin Mergea, things did not go according to plan, ranking 14th being far from the result that our tennis player would have wanted.
ROUND II: Leo Borlovan, at the first success
If we were to limit ourselves strictly to the battle for victory, the second round took place after a scenario identical to that of the first race in Imola. On an inverted grid, according to the rules, Leo Borlovan started from the second position and managed to put his name on the list of winners this season. But the battle was a little tighter, Sabin Stroescu ranking second to a second difference. Not bad for a driver who started the previous round in position 23! Leaving the third, Lukas Hellmann defended his position until the finish line, the podium obtained being a well-deserved reward after a weekend with good evolutions for the driver of the Zecarul eSports team.
Leo Borlovan ticked off his first success in 2020.
Behind them, with a difference of almost 15 seconds, Maximilian Junger finished fourth after a race in which he won four positions. Remarkable if we consider that we are talking about the duel in the Top Ten. But the most important thing for the driver from CRG Romania Racing are the 28 points collected in the Imola stage. Immediately behind him, at a difference of about four tenths of a second, Dragoș Simion finished fifth and obtained the much needed points in maintaining the leading position in the championship.
If for some it would seem quite a bit, let's say that the result comes after the driver of the Willi Motorsports team started from the 12th position. In a compact platoon, Maximilian Junger and Dragoș Simion were followed by Oscar Williams, who in turn wins four places, Victor Taras, Claudiu Clima, Horia Roca and Cristian Moisescu, who closed the Top Ten of the second round. For Florin Mergea, the Italian nightmare ended with a 16th place, almost half a minute behind the winner.
The next stage is scheduled at Spa-Francorchamps, on May 29, 2020.
