Max Hamelink drove a brilliant race to take victory in the Hybrid series, with an excellent return to the track by Jack Smith! Jack is currently stepping in for Oscar who couldn't make the race. Max put the car on pole, lining up ahead of Jack in 3rd, with the Triple Eight's of Tim Omloo in 5th and Karlis Skirmanis in 16th. Max scampered off into the distance as Jack tried to find a way through past Andreas Schilder but for quite a while is held up as he applied constant pressure on him. Schilder would make a mistake which allowed Jack to slip through into 2nd. Jack would have a spin of his own chasing the fastest lap. Tim had a quiet run to 3rd with a measured and level headed drive, essentially making it a Vermin 1 2 and technically 3. Karlis had a rough race and had to retire sustaining too much damage.
